Shrek the Musical

Music by Jeanine Tesori · Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire

Regalo Theatre's debut production announced the company's arrival with unmistakable energy. A massive ensemble, a 20-foot puppet dragon, and a story about outsiders finding their place — it was an ambitious first show that set the tone for everything that followed. Performed at Skyridge High School's 1,200-seat auditorium in Lehi.

"A big, bright, beautiful show. If this production is any indication, Regalo Theater has a big, bright, beautiful future."

For their second production and first holiday show, Regalo mounted Irving Berlin's beloved classic with remarkable craft. It even snowed in the audience during the finale. The production earned Regalo its first major press recognition as Utah Valley's newest theatrical force.

"Officially solidifying Regalo Theater Company as Utah Valley's newest theatrical giant, delivering professional production at a community theater price point."

One of the most celebrated musicals ever written, Fiddler on the Roof gave Regalo the opportunity to explore the full emotional range of classic American musical theater. The production was praised for its believable chemistry between leads and its confident handling of a deeply human story.

"One of the most impressive new players on the local theater scene in Utah County. Their latest show keeps with their stellar track record."

Amadeus

By Peter Shaffer

Regalo's most ambitious production to date: a complex, demanding straight play about genius, envy, and the silence of God. Director Michael Carrasco designed a striking minimal set anchored by three elegant arches and projection screens. The production earned the company its strongest critical reception yet and proved Regalo could compete with the best companies in the state.

"Even the largest non-Equity theatre companies in the state would struggle to match the depth and emotion of this production. It would be a crime for Utah County audiences to miss this must-see production."

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder

Music and Lyrics by Steven Lutvak · Book by Robert L. Freedman

A Tony Award-winning comedy of errors, dark wit, and one actor playing eight murder victims. Regalo closed their first chapter with this ambitious musical farce, mounting one of Broadway's most technically demanding shows and earning strong notices for its lead performance and ensemble work.

"A strong effort to mount a difficult show. Chris Last had the daunting task of playing all eight murdered members of the D'Ysquith family — each with distinct vocal inflection, physical mannerisms, and their own gait. His dynamic range was on full display."
